Bharat Book Bureau asked:

MEMS Switch and Varicap Market Report ( http://www.bharatbook.com/Market-Research-Reports/MEMS-Switch-and-Varicap-Market.html ) gives Struggles in industrial market offset by increasing interest from the cell phone industry.

Get a global and in-depth view of the RF MEMS Switch Market: : MEMS switch and Varicap applications, Target price per application and dedicated end market, Focus on RF MEMS switches for cell phone applications, How and when will they be integrated in front end modules?

REPORT HIGHLIGHTS

MEMS switches and varicaps products are getting to commercialization today. These products either replace existing switching products or create new features. The industry is just emerging with early sales levels in 2006.

Successful sales of MEMS switches have been registered for ATE (Automated Test Equipment) and other defense and industrial applications since 2006. Despite a market growth in 2007 the two industrial market leaders, Teravicta and Simpler Network have nevertheless stopped their activity in December 2007. It will be a challenge for the industry to recover from this difficult start. But acquisitions in the field of the cell phone module industry (such as EPCOS acquisition of NXP MEMS varicap activity) raise commercialization expectations in the next 2 years.

This report highlights who is poised to be the next leading players and which applications will drive the MEMS switch and varicap sales in the 2007-2012 period.

Six players are currently commercializing or sampling products on the market (RadantMEMS, MEW, Advantest, XCOMwireless, MEMtronics, Wispry) and more than 20 additional products development projects have been listed in the report.

M&A activity will certainly increase in the next 5 years in order to push forward the commercialization of these technologies like EPCOS did this year.

The potential market for switches and varicaps is therefore large because MEMS based switches are expected to both: substitute existing products, enable new applications, particularly for mobile phones within the short term

The main market drivers for the cell phone applications are the following :

* Weight and size benefit for space and ATE (Automated Test Equipment) applications

* Increased RF switching performance at constant size and cost, for cell phone and radars applications

* Ability to create switching matrix being low cost and good RF performances in wired and wireless telecom applications

MEMS switch and varicaps will generate over US$ 700M sales by 2012. The market will be mainly driven by cell phones applications.

Price erosion be a major concern from MEMS manufacturers as volume ramps up. Market leaders will have a major advantage in this complex technology development period. This report not only describes the market at the player and application level, but it provide a global view of the RF MEMS switch market allowing to build diversification strategies taking into account technical requirements.

KEY FEATURES OF THE REPORT

* 6 fields investigated

* 13 applications evaluated

* 150+ companies listed

* Analysis on the complete value chain (Technology, Foundry, IDM, OEMs)

* 200+ Pages

This report gives an exhaustive analysis of the potential applications. It gives a segmentation of defense, industrial, automotive and telecom field. The market analysis details each application using the following criteria:

* Description of the application and the benefit of RF MEMS switches

* Function and specification requirements for RF MEMS switches

* Description of the final product market players and trends

* Analysis of the competitive technologies and players

* Analysis of the RF MEMS switches market

* lobal market evaluation of the RF MEMS switch applications: component volume in Munits, Average Single Price (ASP), and 2007-2012 value forecasts

* Description of the products and technologies: product specifications, technological trends and business trends

* Evaluation of major players market share and potential new entrants

The main challenges facing the RF MEMS switch industries are discussed in order to forecast the evolution of the global MEMS industry and its impact on each market.

Who should buy the report?

MEMS manufacturers:

* Evaluate the accessible market for your switch or varicap components

* Define diversification strategies on new applications for your core switch or varicap technology

* Evaluate the technology selection and the level of development of your competitors

* Support a strategic decision to enter, exit, or find a partner in the switch and varicap industry

Handset manufacturers and operators:

* Understand the benefits of MEMS based products over competitive technologies

* Access to an updated product roadmap and the status of the MEMS leading players

* Evaluate how MEMS can change the architecture of the cell phone front end

* Understand why power amplifier market will have a negative growth after 2012

* Get detailed company profiles with description of the product technology & process

MEMS foundries, equipment & material manufacturers :

* Evaluate the business potential of your customers developing switch and varicap products

* Identify the switch and varicap processes selected by each MEMS manufacturer

* Prepare new business development strategies

Financial and strategic investors :

* Understand the MEMS technology, product and challenges which will replace existing switch technologies or create new features

* Evaluate the business opportunity for MEMS companies in the field of switches and varicaps

Contact us at:

Bharat Book Bureau

Tel: 91 22 27578668

Fax: 91 22 27579131

Email: info@bharatbook.com

Website: www.bharatbook.com

the network switch

Donald Willson asked:

When I first started in computers, one of the most confusing things that I ran across was how to set up a home network. The differences between hubs, routers, Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) and cabling were a mystery to me. But after much trial and error and built-up experience I managed to figure things out and some of that information I will share with you now.

There are two basic types of networks that I’m going to talk about in this article first being the infamous ICS or Internet Connection Sharing. ICS is usually implemented by connecting multiple computers through the hub to a single computer. Let’s say we have three computers, Computer A, Computer B and Computer C. Computer A has enjoyed a high speed Internet connection and after a while, Computer B and C want to get in on the action! In order to implement ICS, we would have to connect Computers B and C to a hub.

A hub is basically a switch that allows any computer hooked up to it to communicate with any other computer hooked up to the hub. So with all three computers hooked up to it, we would set the network up on the computers to use ICS. Computers B and C would be told that they’re going to connect to the Internet through another computer that has a high-speed Internet connection. While Computer A would be configured to enjoy its high-speed connection as it did before.

Like this, Computers B and C would enjoy a relatively fast connection to the Internet as would Computer A. The problem here starts when all three computers are accessing the Internet at the same time. Computers B and C would enjoy a relatively fast connection to the Internet while Computer A would suffer some moderate slowdowns because it not only has to handle its own traffic but the traffic of the other two computers as well. The user on Computer A is going to get quite upset if Computers B and C decide to download files at the same time. Because downloading a file is such a data intensive process, demanding large amounts of data be transferred from the Internet as fast as possible, Computers A may suffer some severe speed problems because of the demand being put on it from the other two computers.

Unfortunately because of the fact that the hub does not have built-in firewall or any other such software that can protect the computers behind the hub Computers A must also be running Windows firewall in the background which provides an additional performance hit.

So although the ICS is the cheapest way to go, it is definitely not the speediest way to go. In fact, to be honest, I would only follow this route if the users of Computers B and C had something against the user of Computer A and want to get even!

The second type of setup that I’m going to talk about it is the router based set up. Nice thing about the router is that most routers are very intelligent. They have built-in firewalls, parental controls, can block sites or even allow users to have access to your network from the outside if they know the proper passwords and/or ports to connect through. No additional software is required that might add a performance hit and all three computers get configured the same way.

To hook up or router you simply plug a cable from your Internet connection into the router then plug the three computers into the router as well. When you set up your computers you tell networking software that all three will computers have direct access to the Internet. There is some setup involved with router as is usual with any complicated piece of hardware but usually it is very painless and if you follow the instructions, quite easy!

The nice thing about router set up is that once it is set, up all three computers enjoy the same speed advantages of being on a high-speed Internet. No one computer is impacted by the fact that someone else is downloading a file. In fact, all three can download a file at the same time and still enjoy impressive speed while doing so! Face it guys this is the network that you want to set up if your wife is on Computer A!

Routers tend to be a little more expensive than hubs but the advantages of having them a part your network far outweigh any price difference. So if you must go with ICS, then do so with pride! But personally, I would recommend spending the extra money to go the “router route”!

nortel network switch

Scott Rogers asked:

What?!

Why would anyone suggest that you not promote your Network Marketing or MLM business too much?

Well, let me ask you something here:

Are you trying to make more money for yourself and your team OR would you rather see more money and attention brought to the company you are promoting?

That may seem like a dumb question, but the WAY you are marketing and promoting your business says more about that subject than your response to it.

In other words, if you spend the majority of your time talking about or promoting the actual company you represent instead of YOURSELF, what is the message you are actually portraying to your prospects?

It is this:

‘This company is so great - the products sell themselves, the compensation plan is killer, the founders have the biggest heart, and on and on, but getting you in my company is what I’m trying to do here’

So, where exactly do you come in? What makes you needed if the company is so great and that’s all you are talking about; why would people be attracted to you personally?

In essence, you are simply a glorified sales rep and not a true independent marketer, doing it this way.

(Now, please don’t get upset and close your mind here. Just hear me out and make your own decision at the end of this article.)

This brings up questions like: If the products sell themselves, why does your company need you? If the comp plan is the best, then why are there people in other networking companies making more than people in your company? If this is such a great opportunity, then why do you need to track people down to tell them all about how great it really is? Why do so many networkers talk more about their company and products than they do their own children?

The deal is, your company does need you because you bring in the key component that they may not be able to achieve on their own - which is relationships and creative marketers.

Getting back to the main point here:

* Instead of spending so much time promoting and building up a company you represent, wouldn’t it be a better business decision to promote and build up YOURSELF more?

What if you switched gears and instead of attracting and linking people to your network marketing company; you attracted and linked people to YOU, and then had the power to control where you direct and lead those people?

Something that happens quite a bit in this business is companies that up and close all of a sudden or get raided by the FDA or the Government, or have a financial crisis, or change the comp plan, etc.

Just the same is the fact that your prospects now have many great mlm companies and products to choose from and can be much more selective about who they deal with in their decision of those companies.

What this means to you is that if you are not attracting people to you FIRST, people have no real reason to join in business with you specifically.

What do you have to offer that any other rep doesn’t have?

So, let me give an example here. Say you have a prospect who you are trying to get as a rep in your business:

You paint this awesome picture of your company (all the benefits and features) to your prospect and try to get them involved.

Well, they decide for whatever reason, that they do not want to become a rep with your company and they move on.

You have just lost your chance with that prospect because all you had to offer them was your opportunity and nothing more. They will not come back to you unless they decide they want to join that particular company, and even then they might find a crossline rep they like more than you and join with them. They have no other use for you, and you have no more attractiveness to them.

Now, what about this:

Contrast this by attracting people to you FIRST (by positioning yourself as an expert in your field) and giving them something of value (such as a free informational generic newsletter, ebook, webinar, etc.) and then directing them to the course that is best for them including your primary business.

Doing it this way can allow you to be attractive to prospects at all times, and even if they don’t join you in your primary business, they are still connected with you and not just sold on your company. They trust you and consider you more of a help than of a annoying sales rep who thinks their particular company is the best thing out there.

It’s very easy to find network marketers who are in love with their company and spend all of their time praising their company and it’s products, conventions, and all of that stuff.

However, it’s rare when you find someone who attracts people to them first through correct positioning, and is able to more effectively help prospects above and beyond their business opportunity.

Sure we should be proud to represent the company we are with, but they are not the be all end all. They are mearly a means to an end. If you are a true independent marketer, you don’t have to rely so much on driving every person to your primary company because you are bringing people to you first, then you have the chance to help them much more than just getting them in your business opportunity. You have much more to offer.

Not only that, but regular network marketers are a dime a dozen. People don’t want to work with the average Joe networker. Why would they, anyway (the statistics of the masses are terrible)? People want to deal with someone who they can trust and someone who can give them more information than just the typical sales pitch of their particular company that every other rep is also using. I mean, most everyone says their particular company is the best, their ’system’ is the best, yada, yada. Who really cares? Prospects have heard it all before. They want results and they want someone who is different and who gives before they get.

You are either independently unique, or you are simply following the followers.

The great news is: It’s all your choice! So choose wisely

industrial network switch

Joel Ng asked:

If you would like to take advantage of the low cost and extra features of VoIP, you may decide to replace your traditional telephone service with a VoIP service, Here are 5 reason why switching to VoIP.

1. Low-cost

The biggest advantages of VoIP is the low-cost. The basic monthly fee is lower than PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and the price also includes services such as call display and call forwarding that traditional telephone companies charges extra for.

Basic VoIP plans start as low as $5.99 a month. If you have a fast Internet connection (DSL or cable) you can make PC-to-PC phone calls anywhere in the world for free.

2. Free calling feature

VoIP users can enjoy many other free calling features, this make VoIP attractive. Call forwarding, call waiting, voicemail, caller ID and three-way calling are some of the many services included with Internet telephone at no extra charge. You can also send data such as pictures and documents at the same time you are talking on the phone.

3. Unlimited long distance call

You can also sign up with a VoIP service provider which charges a monthly fee in return for unlimited calls within a certain geographic area. For example, some VoIP services in the United States allow you to call anywhere in North America at no extra charge. Overseas calls are charged at a relatively small rate.

4. Portability

You can make and receive phone calls wherever there is a broadband connection simply by signing in to your VoIP account. This makes VoIP as convenient as e-mail – if you are traveling, simply pack a headset or Internet phone and you can talk to your family or business associates for almost nothing

5. Easy to Install

A computer is not necessary but makes it more convenient to access your VoIP account.

The basic equipment need for VoIP is a broadband modem (either cable or DSL), a router, and an IP phone. Simply plug the router into the modem and plug the IP phone into the router. There is no need for service calls to get equipment installed.

For more information visit: Today VoIP .

top network switch
