Use a crossover cable to interconnect the router and switch.
Due to the uplink you will only have 10 ports for connections not 12.
You can use any ports for the interconnection.

You would need to use an ethernet crossover cable between the router and the switch. I have added a link on them for more information.
‘Additionally, many hubs, routers, and modems have internal crossovers to allow users to directly connect a computer to them without the need for a crossover cable. However, if the user wishes to connect a succession of these items, a crossover cable is needed to reverse the original crossover so that they communicate normally.’

With the equipment you have you can only network 10 computers as one port in the router and one port in the switch will be taken up by the ethernet cable connecting the router and switch together.
Thats all you need to do.
If you want 12 computers buy a 4 port hub or switch and either connect it to one of the router or 8 port switch ethernet ports. That will allow you 13 computers…..

what kind of router do you have?? if you have a wireless router (linksys, netgear), you can set up a small network of 10 PC’s (as one port each on router and switch will be used for cascading), and also if you have wireless cards on your PC’s, you can have many more of them on the network.
