Legitimate Balls asked:

I’m going to expand my network, from my router i need more ports, So i bought a 16 port network switch. When I connect that to router does it need to be connected with a crossover cable?

This will be for gaming also.

Either use crossover cable, or if your network switch supports expansion, use that port (usually last port on the switch, in your case #16) and regular CAT-5 cable. You might need to press a special button on your switch tho to change that port from regular to expansion.

Some newer switches also support ‘auto-mdix’, which means a straight-through or cross-over cable can be used to connect switches together.
