Will the new iphone 3g be able to switch between 3G and Edge Network?

My friends, who are pretty much genuises, say it will be able to, but then again we (my friends and I) dont really know much about apple products. Phones are always backwards compatible, if it is capable of 3G then is is certainly capable of Edge and too!

Yes you will be able to and it will switch automatically, o and by the way, dont listen to that guy ^^^. He has no clue what he is talking about. Apple innovates, others imitate.

Yes. EDGE is more widespread and if you can get a signal, then buy it. There is a switch (buried deep) in the iPhone that turns 3G on/off.
